“If It Doesn’t Challenge You, It Doesn’t Change you”

Posted on Updated on

Looking for a new way to challenge yourself? For those who are looking for a prolonged way to challenge themselves, give Crossfit a try! Crossfit incorporates strength and conditioning and the goal of this program is to improve  muscular strength, cardio-respiratory endurance, and flexibility. This type of workout involves a mix of aerobic exercise, gymnastics body weight exercises, and Olympic weight lifting. The typical Crossfit workout session is about an hour long at affiliated gyms. Some of the workouts include: jump roping, air squats, burpees, rope climbing, cleans, dead-lifting, etc.

Along with that, the main pattern and what you should expect is  a warm-up, a skill development part, an intense workout for that day, and a segment of stretching. Fortunately enough for people who are unsure if they will like Crossfit, many of the Crossfit trainers will allow you to try it before you commit.

Just a few weeks ago, I attended a Crossfit training session for free in hopes of finding a new way to challenge myself. Not only did I get a good sense of what this type of workout demands, but I wound up really liking it. Also, it is important to note that even though every Crossfit gym is basically similar in what their aims and workouts are, each one differs depending on what type of trainer is running the program. Do not get discouraged if you find a Crossfit gym that is “too intense” for you. Keep researching one that best suits you and will help you to reach your goals. There are Crossfit gyms all over the place nowadays so it should not be too hard to find one in your area.

All in all, Crossfit training is 100% a perfect way to challenge yourself. No matter how good of shape you are in, the workout sessions you will encounter will constantly require you to push yourself and grow as an individual. So, go out there and challenge yourself to complete a whole month or even a year/lifetime of Crossfit training and don’t forget to PUSH YOURSELF!
